Reading data on your device
Quran Duo stores reading positions, bookmarks, a ribbon marker, practice progress and preferences on your device. These let you resume reading and keep your choices.
The current app has no account service, advertising SDK or developer analytics SDK. It does not send your reading history to a Quran Duo server.
Optional audio and external services
In the development build, requested human recitation can be downloaded from EveryAyah. Requests expose ordinary network information, including an IP address and a recording path that identifies the passage and reciter. That provider’s handling and retention of logs require review for the final release.
Downloaded recitation is stored in a private app cache, excluded from device backup. The app’s audio-removal option removes downloaded practice audio while keeping reading text and saved progress.
English narration is currently generated on the development Mac with Kokoro and packaged as audio clips. The iPhone app does not send the displayed translation to an AI voice service. Coverage, content permissions and the final release behavior remain under review.
Quran Duo does not request microphone access, record your recitation or provide pronunciation scoring.
Planned purchases
The optional Learning upgrade is not publicly active. The app has a StoreKit purchase-testing foundation. Once activated, Apple will process payment details, and the app will check verified purchase ownership to enable and restore the upgrade. The developer does not receive card details through the app.
Contacting support
Email hello@otherx.app with questions or requests. We receive the address and information you choose to send and use them to respond or investigate. Support email is handled through Google Workspace. The legal publisher and support retention schedule will be confirmed before release.
Your controls
You can remove individual bookmarks and the ribbon, and remove downloaded practice audio through the app. Local reading and practice data remain while the app retains its storage. Deleting the app can delete local data; operating-system backups are controlled separately by your device settings.
Apple keeps purchase records under its own practices. Deleting an app does not remove ownership of a one-time purchase.
Website visits
The studio website has separate hosting and email considerations. Read the website privacy notice.
Before release
This policy and App Store privacy disclosures will be checked against the final app and enabled service providers. We’ll update the policy when its data practices change.
